Courtney graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts and she has led workshops, drama classes and directed shows for over 10 years.
Her love for theatre and acting really shone out in school – joining in school productions and trips such as performing at The Brighton Fringe Festival, The Great Escape Festival and various short films. Theatre credits include Pearl in Steven Berkoff’s West, Peter Quince in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Feste in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, including numerous short films and hosting events.
Personal development is a huge factor in her work – always pushing herself by attending classes, workshops, seminars and shows which have included: voice workshops with Jeanette Nelson (Head of Voice at The National Theatre), physical comedy workshops with Brighton’s Spymonkey, Trestle Arts Base mask workshops with artistic director Emily Grey. She is currently studying towards her ATCL Teaching Diploma (Speech and Drama, Theatre Arts and Communication Skills) With Trinity College London.
She was invited to join the pool of facilitators to teach workshops for Chichester Festival Theatre and regularly covers sessions for performing arts schools throughout Sussex and Surrey.
Courtney specialises in teaching LAMDA Examinations and 1-2-1 audition preparations.
She has a vast amount of knowledge, and is always eager to pass on to her students.
She has a huge appreciation for Shakespeare, and contemporary theatre is her personal love and forte.
Courtney believes drama provides students with so many transferable skills. She loves seeing students not being afraid to lose inhibitions, not be afraid to play and make mistakes, build in confidence and blossom into lovely young people!
